The Summer Course in Sketching Ideas for Design aims to attract a variety of students interested in improving their sketching techniques.
Over a three-week period, the work focuses on perspective by using various tools to produce drawings of great explanatory quality that are also at the same time artistic.
The world of cars is an industry that requires more control in this technique, and it is for this reason that the course combines sector professionals with specialists from the worlds of fashion, illustration and product design in order to have various inputs and thereby achieve innovative results.
– To use freehand drawing to achieve good quality results in product sketching.
– To work on the perspective of several objects ranging from simple shapes to those of more complex forms.
-To experiment with various types of pencils and pens in order to achieve various styles and identify the most suitable tool for each.
– To draw at various scales in order to control strokes in different situations.
– To practice with digital tablets and retouching programs by applying colour to emphasise volumes.
– To learn about the professional figure of a designer whose main working tool is sketching (especially in the car sector).
This is an intensive sketching laboratory in which students and professionals come together to share new ways of representation. Work is conducted on various image formats and tools to produce a digital portfolio.
At the same time, specialists in the fields of fashion, products and graphic design also participate in the Sketching Ideas course by contributing their experience and knowledge.
These professionals define personalised drawing methodologies so that each student can progress and improve their style.
First week: Quick exercises that lead to expressive agility.
Second week: Produce complex volumes for various products.
Third week: Digitalisation and preparation of portfolio.
The course is aimed at both design students and graduates, or professionals who want to undergo a new training experience in which they can put their sketching skills into practice within the world of design.
A portfolio (minimum 10 drawings) will be required for registration.
The nature of the course favours the use and adaptation of its content to various professional opportunities according to the profile and prior experience of the students.
